A nerd by any other name. Administrator of the [Kaitaia Life](https://kaitaia.life) services, and all round nice guy who just likes to have a laugh. I try to avoid politics and extreme views, but am more than willing to have good open conversations without judgement. FOSS and *nix lover + privacy advocate. Poster of random junk, and the occasional tech related (or gaming related) video.

I've been putting it off, but I really need to generate two new GPG keys. What's the best practice for that in 2021?

@strawberryfieldsforever You're welcome. Glad to hear it :)

Another Friday tool drop from me: https://git.sr.ht/~fincham/sockkit

SockKit is a Python module that makes it easy to make any weird IO in to a SOCKS proxy. Just implement connect(), recv() and send()!

Yes this is part of something bigger coming soon…

Kudos again to my employer Pulse Security (https://pulsesecurity.co.nz/) for facilitating this work.

@jkbr absolutely! I'll pass it on πŸ˜πŸ‘

@PINE64 @mobian @awai

@natalie yeah, the bragging rights over a JVC don't really match up huh. 🀣

Here, getting high quality Hi-Fi equipment, you either have to import, or be told that "Bose is the highest quality audio system in the world" by the sales people.

Are you on Vinyl Engine? The folks there are really helpful. I've been helping the n00bs there with digitizing their old media. Cleaning up the audio etc.

@natalie oh no! I can imagine. Good condition? Dayum.

@natalie they're still one of the most robust; convenient (and cheapest per minute) recording media available for low to medium quality analog audio archiving. So well worth it. πŸ‘πŸ˜

I picked up a pioneer dual autoreverse deck, and its great. But I'd sell my soul for a Nakamichi Dragon cassette deck.

@natalie right? They only come up once in a blue moon on our equiv. of eBay, here. Almost always for over $1000, and Hi-MD discs are as rare as hens teeth. That said, I found a company here in NZ, that still custom manufacture Cassettes cheaper than new old stock. I ended up buying 20* 90 minute blanks for about $170 I think. Great quality, and unlabeled.

@natalie Vinyl and Cassettes here, still missing a Hi-MD deck to add to my collection. I'm jealous!

Hey everyone!

Doing an laid back interview with @awai of @mobian fame, for something really cool today.

Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to ask him!

@nick Hi, thank you for sharing your thoughts! We have forwarded your suggestion about the ability to route the traffic from our mobile apps and Bridge through Tor internally for consideration.

@yojimbo dark mode themes here, but a green/black or white/black are my preferred term colours as well. Green/black for the nostalgia of the ol' phosphorus πŸ˜πŸ‘

@lightweight Great views mate :)

Not kidding, that's the setup @martijnbraam used to process E09! 😎

This time we have:
* @PINE64 and leveled up into the community category
* geeking out on call/SMS handling in combination with the modem

Just noticed this on @danctnix: Too many scaling options to allow the window to fit the screen in portrait - still awesome!

Let's find out if runs on the ...
